Internship

With my anticipation in advance of my placement, I ask myself:  Am I ready?

Do I know the material? Has Year-Up really set me up for success? I have been in the Year-Up program for 6 months doing numerous different things, and coming from the type of environment that I came from, this is new to me. I learned to image a computer, learn all the computer components, from its hardware to its software. Also, I have implemented in my learning how to be professionally sound in the corporate world. What I mean is, I have written professional email, and had to go back to the drawing board in re-learning grammar, particularly as is applies to a professional environment.  Me being me, I’ve thought grammatically I was on-point in that aspect of my life, but Year-Up has molded me into someone that can perform in a professional work space. In other words, I’m a better young man for this experience.  At this point, I believe that I have the confidence that given the opportunity, I could be successful in a work environment. When I do actually get my internship, and know my placement, I can say to myself,” Grandpa, I am one step-step closer to making you proud.”

Last day work

The day before year up I had a lot on my plate which I had to figure how to make enough time to do everything. I had to wash clothes and had a few homework assignments that had to be done or I was going to receive an infraction. Lord knows I can’t afford an infraction with points seeming low. So I had to buckle down and do what I have to do so that I do not have any infractions this week. With no infractions I can have a perfect week and be off and running with my internship around the corner. Everything seemed to be a piece of cake with my mind in the right directions I believe anything is possible this late in the game. I washed my clothes which I cheated had my sister wash my clothes which she charged me. I was saying to myself really though, but I don’t blame her I would of did her the same way if she was rushing trying to do last minute things. At the end of the day everything was well.

new years

New years and i really didn't think I was going to be doing anything this day, but what do you know I got it pop-in. I called up my best friend to see what exactly it was he was doing and  he said I'm going to Frisco and I said why? He went on and on telling me why I should go to Frisco and he convinced me to go to Frisco. So i went shopping to go get me a outfit so I can look good going to Frisco. So I got me a fit and I am proud of my out come so I meet up with my friend so we can be on are way to Frisco. When we was out there I seen everybody from my friends I grew up with and was having a good time. Everything went right that night end up seeing the fire works and for the first time did not hear any guns.

xmas

On Xmas day me and my family gathered together to open up all of the presents are aunt's and uncle had for us. I had got some more clothes which I really didn't need but me being me I took it with the thought of somebody thought of me this holiday. We had all kinds of cakes, pies and deserts to get a sweet tooth to top of are Xmas day event. My family made the traditional Gumbo which I had to make my own because I am allergic to sea food and will break me out. All together I had a good time with my family which we don't get to see each other everyday.
